Learn Guitar Solo – 3 Easy Tricks and Why Practice Is Perfection

You are probably where I stood some time ago, trying to learn guitar solo and not knowing where to start. Consider this article as a small guitar lesson, inspired by my experience and aiming to teach you how  to start playing as a pro. And yes, you can also be one of those perfect guitarists that blaze their way through an amazing guitar solo without stopping to think about what they are doing. All you have to do is practice, learn each guitar solo valuable lesson and then practice some more.

There’s no need to think that you’ll have to become a music composer as well if you want to pull a solo through. I was right there where you are now, and I know how you feel. To learn acoustic or an electric guitar solo you won’t have to improvise as you are trying to do now. It’s obvious this only brings back some random notes that no one cares to listen to. If anything, they run as far as possible to escape this terrible sound. I’ve enumerated a few tricks I’ve also learnt from my acoustic guitar lessons that should help you understand better what it means to learn guitar solo and how to seem as if you are improvising.

#1 It’s easy to create your own solo once you figure out how to anticipate the notes. You don’t have to come up with new songs. Just guide your solo around the Blues Scale, the one most guitarists use when soloing.

#2 When trying to learn a guitar solo you first need to practice each note on your chosen scale. The most common technique is alternative picking of the chords, which means you pinch the chords one right after the previous while make sure the sound is even and clear.

#3 The Blues Scale starting note may differ. Getting some advanced online guitar lessons will clarify everything on guitar theory and how to properly distinguish between scales. That’s how I’ve learn them. Basic scales for solos are called C blues scales, and they start with the C note.  In my first guitar solo lesson I found out that the C note is found on the guitar’s sixth string.
